What movements take place when you exercise the lower back?
What happens when you exercise your lower back? In order to follow some of the exercise suggestions its worth understanding a little about the different movements that take place.
- Flexion - improves the forward bend in your spine

- Extension - Improves the backward bend in your spine i.e. arching your back
- Side bend - improves the amount of side to side movement in your back
- Rotation - Improves the twisting movement of your back.
